OneThingToday

mnmal:

The coder of OneThingToday Michael Sykes happens to be a reader of Mininal and after seeing my post about Tasks he sent the link to his application.

From the website:

With OneThingToday you simply assign a single task or project to each day. This helps you focus on one major goal each day, avoiding the distraction of other pending tasks or ongoing projects. Plan your time in Calendar mode, which gives you an overiew of one or several weeks. Once you have your time mapped out, switch to Sticky mode which displays only the task you have assigned for the current day.

An idea similar to Tasks only calendar based. I like that. It makes sense.
In his blog Michael wrote:

OneThingToday also displays a single task at a time, but organizes tasks by day rather than in a list. This is better for me because I tend to operate in terms of projects, and these are tasks that will take days, weeks or months to complete.

The app is for Mac. Go check it out.

You could easily do this with WeekPlan, which is a free web app I’ve found useful lately. I’ve been using it for my 3 daily MITs and any hard deadlines. I like the idea of role-based and weekly goals as well.

I had chili dogs and Belgium Wheat beer for dinner. I am watching Costner’s The Postman with my daughter.

Stuffs get’n better.

I do not understand the hate for this movie. I liked it. I feel like the opposite of Elaine and The English Patient. Re: The English Patient, I felt exactly like Elaine.

Hot, dark, compact, and a little sugar.

Can’t believe “hot” is not on there. I always say, “hot and fresh”.

Hulu not charging after all.

Hold your horses, internet. Exec “doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” says Hulu insider.

wut? awww

This is indicative of another major issue facing Hulu.  There are four “owners” of Hulu.  Four different entities with four different goals and objectives.  It’s hard enough for single-entity startups (and I consider Hulu a “startup” in that they are a young company with a new idea) to agree and execute on a strategy.  I have a feeling this will just get worse as time goes on and as market pressures (like new competitors) start to have a real effect on their business.

As a user I already feel the effects of competing forces you mention. Hulu seems to be quickly re-conforming to televisions standards; louder more frequent commercials and ads. Logos, marks, and ads covering my video space. Trying to tell me what I like or value. “Overselling” like making a big deal out of a 9 min. preview of an upcoming series.

At the same time, the support & feedback links have been removed, someone to talk to when there is a problem, or comment.

as this happens I perceive less and less value, and am drawn elsewhere for content.

On a different note: Hulu seems to not really be taking off as a social site. In otherwords, there is not a lot of action on the user comment boards. I wonder why?

So where are you being drawn to? Specifically, where did you watch Seasons Two and Three of Sea Patrol?

Updates to Tumblr’s Facebook publishing

topherchris:

  • Your posts will now go straight to your Feed without updating your Status. (Thanks for all the helpful feedback on this one!)
  • YouTube videos you publish on Tumblr will now play inline on your Facebook News Feed.
  • Chat posts look slick!

More soon…

Get it here!

So why not include the complete post? If you’re trying to improve on the Note import process, shouldn’t it be at least as useful as the Note import process?

What?!

un:

“Producers of Australian TV series Sea Patrol have confirmed that it will be back for a fourth season next year, minus three main characters.

According to TV Tonight, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor (Buffer), Saskia Burmeister (Nav) and Jay Ryan (Spider) will not be returning for the next season of the naval drama.”

No Buffa’ , Nav, or Spoida’? Diss-A-Pointed.

Hey, how are you watching seasons 2 and 3? We’re about to wrap up S1!

What the heck is a kack stack bun and why haven’t I heard of it before?
