Hulu not charging after all.

Hold your horses, internet. Exec “doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” says Hulu insider.

wut? awww

This is indicative of another major issue facing Hulu.  There are four “owners” of Hulu.  Four different entities with four different goals and objectives.  It’s hard enough for single-entity startups (and I consider Hulu a “startup” in that they are a young company with a new idea) to agree and execute on a strategy.  I have a feeling this will just get worse as time goes on and as market pressures (like new competitors) start to have a real effect on their business.

As a user I already feel the effects of competing forces you mention. Hulu seems to be quickly re-conforming to televisions standards; louder more frequent commercials and ads. Logos, marks, and ads covering my video space. Trying to tell me what I like or value. “Overselling” like making a big deal out of a 9 min. preview of an upcoming series.

At the same time, the support & feedback links have been removed, someone to talk to when there is a problem, or comment.

as this happens I perceive less and less value, and am drawn elsewhere for content.

On a different note: Hulu seems to not really be taking off as a social site. In otherwords, there is not a lot of action on the user comment boards. I wonder why?

So where are you being drawn to? Specifically, where did you watch Seasons Two and Three of Sea Patrol?
