Commonwealth status shouldn’t even be an option. It is unconstitutional and it reduces the Island to a mere colony. There are only two options here: full statehood or (gasp) independence.
I’m not sure what part of the Constitution makes this unconstitutional? If that’s so clearly true, it seems like it would just be a matter of bringing a case before a Federal Court. What would the grounds of the case be and why hasn’t it already happened?
It does seem somewhat ridiculous to me that where you are when you vote determines whether or not your vote counts.
