Weber (via The Goat Whisperer)
Yes, we are overdue for a picture of a Weber but mainly I wanted an excuse to post this quote from another Weber pic:

I could sit and watch my grill smoke all day, it’s like a big metal lava lamp, only instead of that waxy goo, you have smoke and you get to eat later!

What is it with men and Weber grills?! I had an old worn out Weber that I inherited from my X. I asked my current boyfriend if he wanted it when I moved and he jumped on it. Rubbed it with rags. Spent hours going over it and in it and out it and then looking up parts for it online. He has a perfectly wonderful NEW super duper gas grill… but this fucking old ass Weber gets to live in the garage with a cover on it. I don’t comprende….

Weber makes great quality products. That’s probably the bottom line. The shape of the kettle really does improve the cooking process. There are imitators but they don’t match the quality. Plus there’s the element of heritage and tradition. Sort of like Coke. Beyond that the advantage of charcoal over gas is—in ascending order of importance:

more time (to prep the coals, etc.) to drink beer while watching it cook (see smoke, lava lamp above)
flavor (there’s no way you can get the flavor of a charcoal grill from a gas grill), and
the excuse to play with fire.
